Art fest expected to draw thousands to downtown Sanford

This weekend historic downtown Sanford will be transformed into an artist mecca for the 4th annual St. John’s River Festival of the Arts.

Organizers have invited more than 125 of the best artists in multiple genres from across the country. There will be live artist demonstrations, as well as opportunities to create your own piece of artwork at workshops scheduled during the weekend. Also, talented chalk artists will add more color to the streets of downtown Sanford as the showcase their skills during live demonstrations.

Festival goers can enjoy gourmet tastes at the Culinary Arts Court while listening to the sounds of acoustic performers.

Spend the day in beautiful downtown Sanford and take home a beautiful piece of art to add to your art collection. The festival is free and so is the parking.

The festival is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and  10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
