Seminole High dance team wins national championship – again

For the ninth time in 10 years the Seminole High School Dazzlers (website | Facebook) are national champions.

The latest championship was earned this weekend at Walt Disney World during the Universal Dance Association Championships. The squad took first place in the high kick division and earned fourth place in the jazz category.

The Dazzler dynasty, which is on par with the New York Yankees or University of Alabama in terms of winning traditions, looks bright in the future, as the junior varsity squad also took home the national championship in the kick division.

The Dazzlers are coached by Sanford natives Maureen and Shannon Maguire.

Oviedo High School finished seventh in the Hip-hop division.
