A crime-infested eyesore next to I-4 is being bulldozed for new development that could include two new hotels and a restaurant.
The Royal Inn and Suites, located at 4750 W. State Road 46 (Gmap), has been the site of more than 1,000 calls for service from law enforcement since 2013. Code enforcement officials have cited the facility for numerous violations.
While there has been no public announcement about what might be built on the 6.8 acre site, preliminary plans filed with Seminole County propose two 4- or 5-story hotels and a 6,000-square-foot restaurant.
A source with knowledge of the plans said one of the hotels is expected to be a Hampton Inn. The restaurant is slated to be a Golden Coral according to the source, who asked for anonymity because the person is not authorized to speak publicly about the project.

Wish hotel would be put near airport or historic downtown.
