The Colonial Room will reopen Friday, July 17 in its new location.
But if you want to be first in line, you will have to get there early. Owner Michelle Simoneaux says the doors will open at 6:30 a.m.
Simoneaux said Thursday morning she was still waiting on an inspection from the Sanford Fire Department, but city of Sanford officials promised to have that completed Thursday afternoon.
“Everything is moving very fast,” Simoneaux said. “I don’t even know what the special will be for tomorrow. I still need to go buy some groceries.”
The Colonial Room, a long time institution in downtown Sanford, relocated just four doors west of where it had been for nearly 50 years (“End of an era: Colonial Room closes – reopening in new spot”). The new location is 105 E. 1st St.
