Seminole CrossFit, a fixture in the downtown Sanford scene, is changing ownership.
Matt Cannavino, who founded the downtown gym five years ago, is selling the business to Greg and Joe Abache.
The Abache brothers will keep the gym in its current location in the West End building on 1st Street near the corner of Oak Avenue. They will be adding more equipment and other improvements.
“This is the best thing to happen to the gym since I opened it five years ago,” said Cannavino, who added he will continue as a coach at the gym and push CrossFit patrons through the grueling WOD (Workout Of the Day).
Cannavino said it was the right time to sell the gym because he has other business opportunities he would like to pursue.
